History of Senate Realty

Senate Realty was founded in 2004 by siblings James and Lisa Williams. After working for a well-known brokerage in DC and Virginia, the duo had become tired of the brick-and-mortar model of large brokerages.

Since 2004, Lisa has been responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction of the corporation. Through her vision and intense dedication, she was able to grow Senate Realty into the largest minority owned real estate brokerage firms in the DC metropolitan area with over 50 agents and an annual product sales volume of $80M in 2007.

As President of Senate Realty, James Williams brought a Marine’s “can do” spirit to the job. He is actively involved with Technology and Training. Mr. Williams led the IT infrastructure team that was responsible for developing an interactive website, implementing MS exchange server, VOIP phone system, computers, and e-mail system.

He was also responsible for recruiting 50 talented real estate agents and developing a world-class real estate training seminar that covered every aspect of transitioning into the real estate profession.

James and Lisa Williams have partnered with developers and community-based programs to develop affordable housing options in DC. They have sold over $50 million in real estate over the years.
